Late night thoughts…

We have so much love and hate for this world, but one thing that we have to keep in mind is that whatever the circumstances, we just have to keep on living. We need to appreciate all the good and bad things that come our way because it helps shape the path to our future.

Influence of others

The influence of other people can be very strong and also very confusing! Stay true to your feelings and gut instincts because deep down only you know what’s going on in your mind. Only you know what you REALLY want in life, so stop doubting yourself, relax and cover your ears when others talk 😉 

Trying new things

Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and try new things. Go out and explore, see new places, learn about different cultures, try new foods, meet new people, play some sports, go to the city or go on a hike. Doings new things doesn’t only educate you in those areas but it also enables you to learn more about yourself. You may have a hidden talent or be really good at tennis, which you won’t know unless you try!

Toxic relationships and letting go

Sometimes you’ll find that a specific someone keeps coming back into your life. You may think it is a sign that they are meant to be in your life. What you need to do is ask yourself, does this person bring out the best in me? Do I feel happy with them in my life? How do I feel when we communicate? How are my other aspects of life doing when this person is in my life in comparison to when they are not? Maybe this person has came back and the friendship / relationship is stronger because both parties involved are now more mature than previously or maybe it’s time to move on and live separate lives excluding one another, because you can be happier! Don’t be afraid to let go of things in life simply because you’re used to them or like the ‘idea of them’. Let go, put yourself first and you will be so much more content with life.

Crossing that damn bridge

Does anyone else overthink situations before crossing that damn bridge? As mentioned in another blog post, it is exam season. Exams are very stressful as most of you can relate. So much is expected from students and it’s not always black and white? I think to myself, why can’t it be made easier? There could be so much more support than there currently is. We shouldn’t be as stressed as we are to pass these exams and we should be able to enjoy the experience. I feel like the worst feeling is not having a back up plan, not knowing what to do in case things go very wrong. However I do feel like we can’t control what is already destined to happen. All that we can do is work at our own pace, put all our efforts and hard work in and whatever the outcome is we deal with it when the time comes. We cross that bridge when we come to it.

Don’t be scared to fail

The worst part of failure is disappointing people, and if you’re like me then you’re scared to disappoint your parents and it’s not the fact that they will be mad that you failed, just more sad and upset, and that’s a lot of pressure. But you have to remember that failing isn’t such a bad thing, it teaches you, shows you the right way, helps you start all over again and when you make a second attempt you’ll do it right because you know where you went wrong. Even if you do keep failing, it’s still okay because you tried your best and maybe it just wasn’t meant for you, but that doesn’t mean you give up, you either keep at it and continue failing until you succeed or you find something new and give it your all. Failure is a part of our life and in order to surpass it we have to accept it.

You have value

Never think that you don’t mean anything, because you do, you have an important role in the life, you mean something to someone and without you life won’t flow the same way. Sometimes we think to ourselves ‘I don’t want to be here’ or ‘why am I here’, and that’s not exactly healthy. Yet these are thoughts that cross our minds every so often, and it’s usually at the time we are struggling. These thoughts impact our mental health and then we begin to question our purpose. These thoughts are scary, because in the moment we don’t know what we could end up doing and once its been done there is no going back. That’s why realising your worth is so important, it’s important for you to understand that you are a key factor to this world and without you there would just be a dark space never being filled because there is no one as unique as you.

The Season of stress

‘The Season of stress’ as I like to call it. Exams, deadlines, life as a whole …it all comes at once during the months of April and May. There’s no secret to it, it’s all about finding out what works for you, puts you at ease, relaxes you and enables you to live each day at its best. There are a few things we take for granted, but need them to be energised and get the maximum out of ourselves each day. We need: 7/8 hours sleep consistently, breakfast every morning, plenty of water, breaks and most importantly ME time!! All of these factors contribute to stress but putting more focus on them can help to increase the quality of life 🙂

Life lessons

Everything happens for a reason, cliche right? but it’s true, everything does happen for a reason, we can’t control our destiny and that’s okay. The struggles that we face everyday are lessons and they are a part of our lives, it helps build who we are and without these struggles and life lessons we would just be boring humans with straight forward lives with no individuality, nothing that separates us from one another. So we need to think to ourselves that although we may be in a time of hardship we still have to remain positive because when we look back we will realise that the struggle was worth it.
